Our family of four (my wife and I with our two daughters 18 and 20 years old) had the trip of a lifetime trekking through Nepal with Navaraj Nepal (Mr. Nepal) and our two porters (Bijon and Ramhari) – organized by Jayaram, the founder of Base Camp Hike.

From the beginning, booking with Base Camp Hike and Jayaram felt like a leap of blind faith. We were sending payment to a company halfway around the world and hoping everything would work out. From the moment we met Jayaram and his team, however, they delivered on every promise they made—and then exceeded our expectations at every opportunity.

Before we even arrived in Nepal, Jayaram was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. Based on his recommendation, we changed our itinerary to avoid unnecessary walking on roads, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. The logistics of the entire trip were seamless. Throughout our trek, Jayaram checked in with Navaraj every day to make sure everything was going well. Even after our trek ended and we continued sightseeing on our own, he stayed in regular contact, asking if there was anything he could do to make our trip even better. That level of customer service is incredibly rare.

The Nar Phu Valley Trek itself is simply mind-blowingly beautiful. If you’re looking for an unforgettable Himalayan experience that is a little off the beaten path, we cannot recommend it highly enough. The scenery is spectacular, the villages are fascinating, and the sense of remoteness makes the entire journey feel truly special.

Our guide, Navaraj—also known as “Mr. Nepal”—was outstanding. He constantly checked to make sure everyone had exactly what they needed, whether that meant giving us space to enjoy the mountains on our own or creating opportunities to connect with local people and culture. My wife has a particular interest in Buddhism, and really all of us wanted to learn more, so Navaraj arranged for us to stay at a monastery, which became one of the highlights of our trip. In each village we visited, he found out what was happening locally and invited us to participate in authentic experiences, whether that meant joining an organized prayer gathering or spending time talking with village elders. These weren’t activities listed on an itinerary—they were meaningful cultural experiences that happened because Navaraj genuinely wanted us to experience the real Nepal.

Our porters, Ramhari and Bijon, were equally wonderful. They were incredibly hardworking, always positive, friendly, and eager to help. They made the trek more enjoyable every single day, and we were grateful to have them as part of our team.

One moment perfectly captures the dedication of this crew. My wife accidentally left her glasses behind in a village two days earlier on the trek. Thanks to Navaraj’s persistence—and the kindness of several local people who volunteered to carry the glasses from village to village—they somehow caught up with us farther along the trail. We were amazed. It was just one more example of the lengths this team would go to in order to take care of their clients.

We would not hesitate for a second to book another trek with Base Camp Hike, Jayaram, Navaraj, Ramhari, and Bijon. The only regret we have is that we couldn’t stay longer. If you’re considering trekking in Nepal, we wholeheartedly recommend both the Nar Phu Valley Trek and this incredible team. They transformed an amazing trek into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We had the best time doing the Langtang Valley Trek with Base Camp Hike! As it was our first time in Nepal and first time trekking at high altitude, we felt very well looked after by both Jayram (company owner) and our guide Mr Nepal! The communication before the trek made us feel super confident and we really appreciated meeting Jayram and Mr Nepal in Kathmandu a couple days before our trek. Mr Nepal was the best guide, pointing out lots of wildlife, naming surrounding mountains and taking us to the best tea houses along the trail. He’s super knowledgeable about the area and was really open to answering the questions we had along the way. Doing the Tserko Ri summit (4985m) was a real highlight and we would 100% recommend the Lantang Valley and Base Camp Hike to anyone looking for an epic experience in the Himalayas.

It was my first time Nepal and Annapurna Base Camp experience. The operator helped alot during the initial discussion ~ 2-3 months prior. The operator was very transparent on the condition, what preparation (physical, gearwise etc) needed. The operator are very accomodating to our tailored request before during and after hike to make sure the most comfortable experience for us.

The guide and porter who accompanied us were nice dudes and very encouraging while still ensuring our safety and physical condition when my friend not feeling well in the 2nd day hike prior to trekk day to ABC. In the end we did the ABC and back all healthy and safely.

A wonderful journey together with Base Camp Hike to Annapurna Base Camp.

I had a great experience with Base Camp Hike. My guide, Rishee, was very trustworthy, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure I felt safe and enjoyed my time. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely comfortable throughout the entire trip, which meant a lot to me.

Jayaram, who runs the agency, was also very attentive and checked in throughout the trip to make sure everything was going smoothly. The whole experience was well organized and seamless from start to finish, even with a few last-minute changes on my side, they adapted quickly and handled everything perfectly. I would definitely recommend Base Camp Hike to anyone looking for a reliable and kind team.
