I had an amazing experience with Base Camp Hike last November when I did the Three Passes Trek. Jayaram was incredibly responsive over WhatsApp despite the time difference between the US and Nepal. Ahead of the trek, he answered all the questions I had and ensured that I had the correct logistics arranged for a successful pre-trip arrival. I felt safe and looked after from the moment I stepped off the plane. Base Camp Hike offered a very affordable trekking package for my solo trek that included a guide, porter, transport to and from the trek, and tea house accommodations / meals. Jayaram also took special care to select a guide he trusted would provide a great experience.
My guide Ginesh was amazing and I could tell how much he loved the mountains and trekking. Incredibly knowledgeable and kind, he was patient with me as I tried to learn the names of the different mountains and about the local mountain culture. Ginesh tailored the trek to my fitness and health, which was essential to a successful trip. He provided amazing insights into everyday Nepalese culture and added a lot of perspective to my trek that I otherwise would not have gained. His longstanding connections to different tea house owners and other guides was impressive and made strangers feel like friends.
I would highly recommend Base Camp Hike for any adventure in Nepal. They operate with integrity and will ensure you feel looked after. When I return to Nepal for more trekking, I’ll definitely be reaching out to Jayaram again.
An Easy 5/5. On the front end of things, Jayaram was extremely helpful with planning. He was very patient and willing to adjust any part of the trek that I needed! I felt very confident during my journey to Nepal.
Things were great as soon as I began the trek. I could not imagine a better guide than Ginesh. He was very knowledgeable and could answer any question I had about the region’s culture and history. It was very clear to me that he takes pride in what he does and that he works to do the absolute best. I never had to worry about a thing – Ginesh did everything possible to ensure that I had a smooth and comfortable trek! We may have started the trek as guide and client, but I feel as though we finished it as friends!
If you are looking at trekking in any part of the Himalayas, I strongly suggest you use Base Camp Hike. With complete sincerity I can say that I have zero complaints. My experience with BCH was a wonderful one and I will never forget it!
So if you’re thinking about booking a trip, don’t waste anymore time and do it right now!
We completed the Everest Three Passes trek with base camp hike in September 2023. Our guide Kamal was fantastic and treated us like family. He spoke very good English and had excellent knowledge of the local area, having 20 years of experience, able to tell us the names of all the mountain peaks and about Nepali culture. He was well-connected in the area and was able to change flights to and from Lukla to avoid extra delays, made sure we got good rooms in the guest houses and were well fed, and expertly accomodated our specific dietary requirements. Kamal made sure to check our blood-oxygen levels regularly as we ascended and was mindful of our health at all times.
Our porter Prem also spoke good English and was very friendly and reliable.
Jayaram, who runs the company, helped us change our flight out of Kathmandu, and also showed us round Thamel to find the best-value trekking equipment to rent and buy.
The trek itself was a fantastic experience with stunning views, despite skipping the third and final pass due to unfavorable conditions on the Khumbu glacier.
I did 3 pass trek with Guide Kamal in November 2019. It was a wonderful trip that I ever had. Guide Kamal did a fantastic job so that I became able to do such strenuous 3 passes.
Thank you Base Camp Hike for everything. I will again come for another trip.
We found this company while searching on Google. Before booking, we had many conversations through WhatsApp regarding the trip. Jayaram(owner) responded to our inquiry very promptly. It impressed me very much. We did Everest 3 passes trek with Guide Kamal and porter Tej. Guide, Kamal, and Porter Tej were very friendly. Both of them are very honest and professional. Nonetheless, we had great weather while hiking. So all in all, I highly recommended Kamal as Guide and Base Camp Hike Company.
