Day 3 – Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp 4,500m(or viewpoint 4200m) and back to High Camp
This is the most challenging day of our entire trekking to Mardi Himal. Today we’ll wake up around 3:40 am and will start our hike around 4 am. We will go to Mardi Himal Base Camp without luggage but with a daypack as we have to come to the same place after the hike.
We have to wake early in the morning in order to catch the sunrise view from the viewpoint or on the way to the viewpoint(depends on walking speed). And if we start in the late morning we will miss the beautiful sunrise views as well as eye-catching mountain views because of clouds/fog. Generally, clouds start in the late morning. Around 2 hours walking from High Camp, we will reach the viewpoint station and there is 2 Teashop. we can have Tea or Coffee there with amazing mountain views. For the breakfast, we have to pack breakfast that we can eat along the way. The kitchen will not be ready, at the time we start hiking.
We’ll hike through the narrow way from the lower viewpoint before reaching the Upper Viewpoint. However, the view at the end of the trek makes all the hard work worth it. Mardi Himal is a sacred Himalaya of Nepal. No one has ever climbed the summit because of its sacred value. To date, it remains unclimbed.
On the way to Mardi Himal Base Camp, we can see Mardi Himal (5587m), Machapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna I (8091m), Baraha Shikhar (Annapurna Fang) (7647m), Tent Peak (5695m), Singhuchuli (6501m) and more others. After reaching Mardi Himal Base Camp, we’ll retrace to High Camp and take Lunch. We will stay overnight at High Camp as we will be more tired due to the early morning walking.

Very caring and knowledgeable guides!

Our group did a four-day hike to the Mardi Himal Basecamp. Our guides Kamal and Lila went above and beyond our expectations. They were very kind and supportive, throughout the whole trek. They made sure we were safe during the walks, had enough food to eat as well if we were all well rested. During the four-day hike, it was great to see the passion both Kamal and Lila had for trekking and the knowledge they had when navigating the mountains. I am really grateful that I got to experience my first major hike with them! – Isaac

4 Day Mardi Himal Trek
Rated 5 out of 5
January 20, 2023
I went with a group of friends (8 total) on the 4 day trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp. From the beginning of planning our trip, communications with Jayaram was very easy. We sent him our info before we arrived in Nepal and everything (guides, permits, accommodations during the trek, etc) was arranged by the time we got there.
Our guides during the trek (Kamal and Lila) were incredible. They kept us on a good pace to avoid altitude sickness and kept track of our oxygen to make sure we were still good to continue. Kamal and Lila were also very patient in answering all of our many questions during the 4 days.
I’d definitely recommend using Base Camp Hike for any trekking experiences.

I would highly recommend this company. Jayaram arranged everything smoothly before leaving. He also replied very fast. I got very fast response from Jayaram. So I booked trek with his company.
Vishnu, our guide was amazing. He always made sure we were okay and had a very good spirit, always making jokes and taking care of us. Nonetheless, he also taught us Yoga. A very sympathetic man, always laughing and flexible to the itinerary.
View during Trekking to Mardi Himal Base Camp was also amazing. Every day we were rewarded with great Annapurna view.
It was the best trip I ever had.
Thanks all of Base Camp Hike for everything.
