For adventure lovers, Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the majority hiking in Nepal. It leads you to the prevalent zone of the Annapurna Region.
|Trip Name:||Annapurna Circuit|
|Trip Duration||12 Days|
|Group Size||1 to 20|
|Best Time||March to May and Sep to Dec|
|Start / End Point||Kathmandu/Kathmandu|
|Activity||5-6 hrs walking(Approx.)|
|Nature of Trek||Teahouses/Lodge|
Unlike other adventure hikes in Nepal, it is the most flexible trail. Because if you are strongly fit, you can do this trail within 7 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu though it requires 2 weeks time(normally 11 days is needed for beginners hikers). In fact, this route is a naturally, culturally as well as religious rich trial.
The journey passes encountering several suspension bridges, enjoying pristine waterfalls, glaciers, several Mani walls, Gompas, apple orchids, getting the Himalayan hospitality, passing several Monasteries, and the popular temple of Muktinath.
Not only these, but you shall also walk via the base of the Himalayas passing several terraced farmlands and rocky areas having magnificent close-up views of several peaks there around.
Throughout the journey, you will get a lifetime experience while passing Thorong-La (5416m)-one of the highest and the widest passes of the world. Moreover getting the picturesque views of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Nilgiri, Thorong Peak, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche is breathtaking. The next advantage of this trip is to explore the deepest gorge of the world-Kali Gandaki gorge.
This trek is considered a moderately difficult trek and the most antique trek. It contains quite developed hiking routes throughout Nepal. As most of the trek occurs in the Alpine zone, you get Tibetan flavor in the forms of culture, religion, and way of living.
This trek is regarded as the most demanded trek in terms of duration and desire of the guests. We can finish this trek within 10 days and extend it up to 21 days. This trip is divided into two types.
Short Annapurna Circuit Trekking – 10 Days
This trip begins from Syange- Lumjung passing the settlements as Ta, Dharapani, Chame, Mananga, Thorong La, Muktinath and finishes at Jomsom- Mustang which takes 10 to 12 days to be finished. You have choices either to fly or drive from Jomsom.
Classical Annapurna Circuit
This amazing journey begins at Besisahar, the administrative headquarter of Lamjung district and ends at Beni, the district headquarter of Myagdi district. It completely takes 21 commercial days to be completed. In the past, due to the inconvenience of the road and everything, the trekkers used to walk peacefully. Because of the road and other convenience, people prefer to shorten the trek.
Highlights of Annapurna Circuit
Many people think that it is a tough trek but I am considering it as a moderate trek. Another fact is if you are in Nepal, do something adventurous. Only the altitude around Thorong La creates somehow uneasiness in the trek. Here is the list of the facts why you should do this trip.
There are plenty of major reasons behind the popularity of the ABC trek. Among them, following the list are highlights.
- Gentle walk each day except Thorong La passing day.
- Mind-blowing pristine waterfalls with a rainbow along the journey.
- Explore diverse landscapes and Greeneries.
- Visit century-old monasteries, Gompas, Mani malls, and temples.
- Attempt the world’s widest pass of Thorong-La.
- Face strong windy stroll while marching Muktinath to Jomsom.
- To explore Marsyangdi Valley and Kali Gandaki valley in a single trek
- Explore Marsyangdi River Valley and Kali Gandaki valley on the way.
- Visit the world’s deepest gorge at Near Rupse waterfall.

Annapurna Circuit Trek Reviews
With Base Camp Hike you can do it!
I did the Annapurna Circuit trek in September 2019. I am in my 60-ties and was afraid whether can complete this trek which includes the pass at 5416 m. But with Base Camp Hike I managed to did it easily! They arranged all my permits and provide me very professional and friendly guide Kamal who took care of me while on the trek. I can fully recommend BCH – they are professional, responsible, and helpful when planning the trek. They are also flexible: can provide any type of service starting from all-included to hiring a guide only (I have chosen the latter option which means that I needed to pay all my expenses on the trek and transport for the guide). Thanks, BCH for my amazing holidays.
