Ganesh Himal Trek
Overview
Northwest of Kathmandu, there is Ganesh Himal Trek which is underrated trekking trail. The Ganesh Himal ranges is located just 70 Km north-northwest of Kathmandu.
10 days Ganesh Himal Trek leads you to the very less crowded mountain areas from where you can see astonishing mountain views.
Not only Ganesh Himal, but we can see also some Tibetan peaks and Tamang Village during the trekking.
The trail is not developed so trekking to Ganesh Himal is teahouses plus camping. Ganesh Himal is named from the legendary elephant-headed Hindu God Ganesh.
On this trek, you’ll see 4 peaks which are above seven thousand meters, and 14 other above than six 6000m. Yangra (Ganesh I) is the highest peak in the trail which is 7,422m (24,350 ft).

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 Drive to Betrawati and trek to Kispang Village
Early morning you’ll drive to Betrawati from Kathmandu. The Betrawati is a beautiful village of Nuwakot which lies on the banks of the Trishuli River.
Upon arrival at Betrawati, we’ll start our trek to Kispang Village which takes approx four hours. The Kispang is a small Tamang village. Upon arrival Kispang, we can visit surrounding Kispang. Overnight in Kispang.

- Waling hours: 7 to 8 hours
Day 2 Trek to Thulo Chaur
This day, you’ll ascend 600m by walking 6 hours to get Thulo Chaur. On the way to Thulo Chaur, we will see Many monasteries, Stupas, and farmlands. Overnight at Thulo Chaur.

- Walking hours: 5-6 hours
Day 3 Thulo Chaur to Gongga
It takes approximately 4 hours to get to Gongga from Thoulochaur. On the way to Gonga, you can see Ganesh Himal Ranges including some wildlife such as Langur Monkeys, and Deer. While you reach Gonga, you’ll be able to see Ganesh Himalayan Ranges.

Day 4 Trek to Rupchet
Upon walking 4 hours from Gonga, you’ll reach Rupchet. We will stay at Tented Camp.

Day 5 Rupchet to Kharka via the Shing La Pass (4100m)
Today, we will pass Sing La(4100m), which is an adventure. Sing La is a mountain pass, from where hikers can get Amazing views of Ganesh Himal Range and Langtang Lirung (7227m). You’ll get Kharka 4 hours descending from Shing La.

Day 6 Karka to Borang
On the 9th day, you’ll reach Borang after descending 700m. It takes approx 7 hours to get to Borang from Karak. Descending 7-8 hours through forest, farmlands, you’ll get Borang. The Borang, Ancient Tamang village, where we are going, will stay 9th overnight.

Day 7 Borang to Jharlang
There are several ups and downs on the way to Jharlang from Borang. Though only 100m descending today, it takes around 6 hours to reach Jharlang from Borang.

Day 8 Jharlang to Kintang Phedi
On day 09, 7 hours down from Jharlang Phedi(1230m), we’ll be in Kintang Phedi. The Kintang Phedi is also Tamang Village, located at 100m m sea level. Enjoy day 9th at Kintang Phedi.

Day 9 Trek to Khahare
On the 10th day of the journey to Ganesh Himal, we will trek to Khahare from Kintang. It’s not a long journey because it takes only 5-6 hours from Kintang Phedi to Khahare. Today is the last day of our trek to Ganesh Himal.

Day 10 Khahare to Kathmandu
It takes only 8 hours from Khahare to Kathmandu.
